Golden A' Design Award Winner 2020
This horizontal-format interior photograph presents a contemporary bar and lounge space, scanning from left to right across the composition, the dominant feature appears in the upper portion where a large white sculptural figure emerges from the ceiling, depicting a muscular male torso oriented upside-down with arms extended and feet visible against the industrial infrastructure above, the sculpture possesses the smooth cool quality of plaster or resin, reminiscent of classical marble rendered in contemporary materials, the ceiling reveals raw concrete and exposed mechanical systems painted in a warm orange-red tone suggesting terracotta or rust, creating horizontal linear patterns that contrast with the vertical sculpture, moving to the left background, warm amber lighting glows like captured sunset, illuminating a bar area where glassware sparkles and bottles are arranged in display, along the dark counter surface extending from left toward center, a procession of decorative vessels in rounded organic forms creates rhythmic repetition, these vessels range from glossy black like polished obsidian to soft grey and creamy white, interspersed with tall arrangements of feathery grass plumes dyed deep crimson red that rise upward like gentle flames, the right portion of the space opens into a seating area bathed in cool blue illumination suggesting twilight or moonlight, cylindrical stools with fabric the color of warm sand feature dark horizontal bands, while dramatic oversized plant leaves in deep blue-black tones create bold sculptural silhouettes, the overall atmosphere suggests theatrical warmth meeting mysterious coolness, industrial authenticity meeting refined elegance.
The design was inspired by pop art and summer and aperol drink. It was an idea to create an atmosphere of all year summer in cold Moscow city. To support this idea orange colors and bright materials were used. The main focus was made on the swimming David - the new vision on Michelangelo masterpiece. The spacial space with chase lounges and solarium symbolized the beach area. The steam fireplaces installed on the bar impressed and surprised.
