Xinhe Group HQ Office

A substantial contemporary office building rises before the viewer, its most commanding feature being a massive angular roof element extending diagonally upward from right to left across the upper third of the structure, clad in warm reddish-brown timber material with visible linear plank articulation that creates rhythmic textural banding suggesting wood grain running horizontally across the expansive surface, this timber presenting colors ranging from russet and terracotta to deeper burnt sienna and chocolate brown where shadow accumulates, the material evoking the warmth of aged hardwood or cedar left to weather naturally. Supporting this dramatic cantilevered roof, the building facade presents as a vertical composition of varied materials organized in distinct horizontal and vertical zones, with the right portion dominated by a tower-like volume clad in titanium white or light gray panels creating a smooth matte surface that reflects bright morning sunlight, this white vertical element punctuated by a regular grid of dark-framed windows creating crisp rectangular voids that suggest interior occupation. Moving leftward, the middle section presents gray metallic horizontal louvers creating dimensional relief through parallel slats that cast fine linear shadows suggesting venetian blind character at architectural scale, these louvers appearing as cool steel gray or charcoal presenting both matte and slightly reflective qualities depending on angle, functioning visually as a transitional zone between the bright white tower and the recessed areas further left. The base level of the building appears more complex, with dark gray or charcoal volumes suggesting entrance areas and covered circulation zones beneath the protective overhang created by the projecting roof, these lower passages remaining in cool shadow that contrasts sharply with the sunlit surfaces above, creating strong chiaroscuro effects. The site is in FuYang, surrounded by small hills and water on three sides. This area was once home to water birds, and the way they spread their wings in flight is full of energy and movement. This matches the clients vision perfectly. Thats why the architect chose the flying bird as the design inspiration. The Xinhe Headquarters shows how an office building can work in harmony with nature. Instead of fighting against the environment, the design embraces it, making the building a place where people and nature connect in a positive way.
